Release of your domain by your current provider
Your current provider needs to release your domain for transfer.
A cancellation of booked web space tariffs associated with the domain may also be
necessary. Depending on the domain ending and provider, there may be special conditions
you need to consider when changing providers.
The most important conditions by TLD:

Should you receive the error message "The AuthCode was incorrect" from our domain robot, please contact your previous provider to receive the current AuthInfo.
- As soon as you have access to our customer information system (CIS) after placing your order,

- After the start of the transfer, a so-called FOA e-mail will be sent (usually within a few hours) to the e-mail address of the domain's Owner/Admin-C stored in WHOIS. This mail contains a link for entering the authorisation code and for authorising the start of the transfer. Only after positive confirmation will the transfer be forwarded to the present provider for approval. If you don't receive an e-mail, please check your spam filter. If there is no e-mail in the spam filter, please contact our support by telephone or e-mail. If the e-mail address stored in Whois is not correct any longer, please request your current domain provider to update it.
- After a positive acknowledgement of the FOA e-mail, the request remains with the current provider for a period of up to 5 days while we await a response. At the latest after this interval you should receive the next notification about the progress of the transfer from our domain robot.
- Please note also that .com, .net, .org, .biz and .info domains can only be migrated to another provider 60 days after the initial registration. After the transfer, there is also a 60-day ban on a further transfer.

More tips for domain migrations
- Transfer the data for your internet presence as soon as possible to the product ordered from us.
- Delete the relevant data from the server of your previous provider only
once you are sure that all data have been transferred.
- Redirect all your e-mail addresses at your previous provider
to external accounts (i.e. an e-mail address at gmail.com or similar).
In our CIS you then set up the same e-mail addresses and
also set up forwarding, to ensure that as few e-mails as possible are lost.
As soon as the domain migration is complete (usually within a few days), you will be notified by us and you can access and manage your domain as usual.
